Doctoral Positions Still Available: Third Call Wraps Up, Fourth Call in Progress

The recruiting process for our Doctoral Candidate (DC) positions is underway, with the third call closed and the fourth open until August 26th.

During the third call, we received 40 applications from 17 different countries, demonstrating sustained international interest. As in prior rounds, most applicants came from Asian countries, while the gender distribution remained stable, with only 20% female candidates.

Despite the encouraging number of applications, no candidates were selected during this round. This outcome reflects the highly competitive nature of the selection process, as well as the stringent academic and project-specific requirements. In some cases, candidates did not completely align with the specific research profiles or eligibility requirements of the open positions. As a result, the four DC positions remain open and are now being re-advertised.

  • DC 1_ Project Title: Impact of extra-light scattering on coupling in MCF. Host institution: CNRS-PhLAM, France
  • DC 4_Project Title: Innovative MCF amplifier approaches for telecommunications. Host institution: UNILIM, France
  • DC 10_Project Title: Design of wavelength space division multiplexing MCF-based passive optical networks. Host institution: Iscte, Portugal
  • DC 12_Project Title: Design of application-aware high-capacity optical networks. Host institution: INF/Nokia, Portugal

We remain committed to attracting a diverse and skilled cohort of researchers and will continue to promote the opportunity widely within academic and professional networks.

The fourth call provides a fresh opportunity for determined candidates to join a thriving international research community.
