MATCH Reaches another Milestone: All Doctoral Fellows Now Enrolled

The MATCH consortium is pleased to announce the achievement of a key project milestone: all 13 doctoral candidates recruited under the project are now officially enrolled in PhD programmes at the network’s degree-awarding universities:

  • Danmarks Tekniske Universitet
  • Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon
  • The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
  • Universidad Politècnica de Valencia
  • Université de Lille
  • Université de Limoges
  • University of Stuttgart

This milestone follows a recruitment process that took longer than initially anticipated, but with all fellows now formally enrolled, the doctoral candidates are fully embedded in their respective PhD programmes and ready to advance their research into multicore fiber (MCF) technologies: from component design and network architecture to signal processing and machine learning applications.

With this foundational step complete, the MATCH network now turns its full focus to the research, training, and secondment activities that will define the doctoral candidates’ journeys over the coming months—bringing the consortium closer to its goal of delivering breakthrough multicore fiber solutions for the next generation of optical communication networks.
