Mid‑Term Check Successfully Completed: Another Key Milestone Achieved

The MATCH project has successfully reached another important milestone with the completion of the Mid‑Term Check, held on 23 March 2026 at Iscte‑IUL in Lisbon.

The Mid‑Term Meeting is a mandatory evaluation step in all MSCA Doctoral Networks, designed to assess the project’s progress, verify the eligibility and recruitment of Doctoral Candidates (DCs), and ensure that training, supervision, and scientific activities are aligned with the Grant Agreement.

During the meeting, the Project Officer from the Research Executive Agency (REA) met with the consortium’s Beneficiaries, Associated Partners, and all appointed DCs. The discussions covered recruitment progress, the status of the research and training programme, planned secondments, project management practices, and any deviations from the original plan. The PO also met privately with the DCs to hear their feedback and ensure that their rights, working conditions, and training opportunities are fully respected.

The MATCH coordinator presented the work achieved so far, highlighting the overall progress of the network, the successful recruitment of the Doctoral Candidates, the launch of their research projects, and the implementation of the training and supervision activities.

The PO’s feedback confirmed that the project is progressing well and that recruitment and eligibility requirements have been fulfilled. A set of recommendations was also shared to support the next steps, including close monitoring of training activities, careful planning of secondments, timely communication with the REA, and updates to deliverables where necessary.

The successful completion of the Mid‑Term Check marks a significant step forward for the MATCH project and demonstrates the consortium’s commitment to high-quality training, research excellence, and effective project management.

We look forward to continuing our work and advancing towards the next milestones!
