The MATCH Doctoral Network has announced its second recruitment round, open until April 20th. This announcement, initially posted on Euraxess on March 31st, follows a successful first round held from February 4th to 24th, which filled five of the thirteen Doctoral Candidate (DC) positions: DC2, DC6, DC8, DC9, and DC11.
This marks a significant step in MATCH’s mission to cultivate the next generation of European researchers and engineers in the innovative field of Multi-Core Fiber (MCF) technologies and applications.
The consortium is still actively seeking outstanding and motivated DCs with the necessary skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to contribute to breakthrough research in MCF technology, to fulfill the remaining eight positions: DC1, DC3, DC4, DC5, DC7, DC10, DC12 and DC13.
The MATCH project offers comprehensive training, equipping DCs with expertise in MCF design, implementation, and the practical engineering aspects of MCF-based systems and networks. The curriculum emphasizes cross-disciplinary methodologies and provides invaluable practical experience through access to leading laboratories and test-bed facilities within both academic and industrial partner institutions. DCs will receive training in diverse areas including photonic systems design, modeling, sensor systems, signal processing, device manufacturing, machine learning, optical network design, and energy efficiency.
Successful candidates will gain an exceptional opportunity to acquire unique, cutting-edge skills and knowledge in Optical Communications through close collaboration with top-tier supervisors within the MATCH network. This experience is designed to transform them into globally minded scientists and engineers prepared to shape Europe’s Information and Communication Technology future and contribute to societal well-being.
