During our recent MATCH meetings, we held a dedicated session for our Doctoral Candidates (DCs) featuring a talk titled “Getting the Best Out of Your MSCA Fellowship: A Personal Perspective”, delivered by Divya Shaji, Doctoral Candidate at HOMTech MSCA Doctoral Network, University of L’Aquila.
Drawing on her experience as an MSCA fellow, Divya shared a first-hand account of navigating the opportunities and challenges of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions fellowship. She reflected on topics such as transnational mobility, interdisciplinary research, and the personal and professional aspects of pursuing a doctorate abroad.
The session prompted open discussion among the DCs and offered practical perspectives that go beyond what any handbook can provide. Hearing directly from a peer currently engaged in an MSCA fellowship provided useful context and reassurance for the group.
We are grateful to Divya for sharing her experience and for making this a valuable session within our MATCH programme. It is through this kind of peer exchange that our community grows stronger.
